Coming from Wales, the North or South West Use M5
Leave at J23. Take A39 to Street and Glastonbury and then follow signs for Shepton Mallet on A361 for 6 miles until you reach the village of Pilton. ~ When entering Pilton, on a bend directly in front of you will be the 'Pilton Stores' and Crown pub, turn left between the 2 buildings (Totterdown lane) ~ Continue From Pilton.
Coming from M4
Leave at J18 and head for Shepton Mallet, via Bath, or if you come from Bristol take the A37 to Shepton Mallet. As you approach Shepton stay on the A37, following signs for Yeovil and Exeter. Go straight across a set of traffic lights and at the Cannards Grave roundabout take the 3rd exit (signed Wells) ~ Continue from Cannards Grave Roundabout.
Coming from London and East Use M3
Leave at J8. Take the A303 & A36 to Warminster and then the A362 towards Frome. Nearing Frome, follow signs for Shepton Mallet on the A361. As you come into Shepton, turn left at the traffic lights (opp Thatched Cottage Pub) and go for just over 1/2 mile (passing Focus) to the Cannards Grave roundabout. Take the 2nd exit (signed Wells). ~ Continue from Cannards Grave Roundabout.
Coming from South
Use either the A37 or A371, one mile before entering Shepton Mallet, turn left following the A361 towards Glastonbury. When entering Pilton, on the right will be the Crown pub and village shop, turn right into “Totterdown lane” between the 2 buildings ~ continue from Pilton.
From Pilton
In the middle of the village, you will see the 'Pilton Stores' and the Crown Inn, take the small road between the shop and the Crown Inn. Follow this road for 1 mile during which you will have gone over a set of cross roads and passed 'Burford' (3 large houses and a pond on the left). After descending from a steep winding hill, take the second turning on the left just in front of a high garden wall on a bend, now on your right is West Compton House (with its large stone steps), Summer Lane Cottage and Rose Cottages on your Left, continue a bit further to a grass triangle, keep left of it and go down the 'No through road' leading to Knowle Farm. Primrose Hill B&B is half way down on the left.
From Cannards Grave roundabout
Having taken the Wells road, turn immediately left (signed Highwayman Inn) and follow this road around a sharp right bend, for approx 1 mile to a crossroads where you give way. Turn left towards Pilton, and then 1st right down a narrow lane through a mucky farm yard to West Compton. Having gone passed The Manor House on your right and coming to a T junction on a bend, turn left for a few yards (between 2 high walls) then next right passing West Compton House (with the large stone steps), passed Rose Cottages on your left, continue a few yards to a grass triangle, keep left and go down the “No Through Road” leading to Knowle Farm, Primrose Hill B&B is half way down on the left.
Directions from Wells
Take the A371 towards Shepton Mallet, go past the B3139 turning on the left, proceed to the Dinder cross roads (which is the next junction) and turn right, up a steep hill, stay on this road until you see a house on the right (right on the road junction) turn right at the house sign posted to Cannards Grave and West Compton, (if you pass the Crematorium you have gone too far) take the next right signed West Compton, follow this road to next junction, turn right (road narrows), at the next junction keep right of the grass triangle, continue to no through farm road and find us halfway down the hill on the left.
Directions from Shepton Mallet Tesco Car Park
Exit Tesco car park or petrol station to the roundabout. Take first exit to Glastonbury B3136 up the hill to Lamberts Hill Crossroads, straight over and down the hill for about 200 yards, then first right down a narrow lane to West Compton. Continue on this lane passing The Manor House on your right, to a junction on a bend. Give way and turn left between two high stone walls for a few yards to a blind bend where you give way and turn right through the rest of the village for ¼ mile, keep to the left side of the grass triangle, down the ‘no through road’ and you will see our bungalow on the left.
Please note we are not "Green Loaning" (the bungalow on the right) as you enter the no through farm road, continue ahead and you will find us halfway down the hill on the left.
